After watching the blatant censorship overtake the Trenton Forum on NJ.com, Captsleepy.com can only wonder if NJ.com is actively promoting censorship, and are they assisting Doug Palmer in keeping the voice of the people silenced with the impending arrival of the U.S. Conference of Mayors?

Here's a letter from frequent Trenton Forum poster Sportyjoe.
9/8/07

Mr. David Blomquist (NJ.com)

Mr. Richard Bilotti (Publisher - Times of Trenton)

Gentleman,

I've become quite disenfranchised with the administration of NJ.com after having been a strong advocate for the entire web site for many years. My reasons of extreme dissatisfaction revolve around the obvious censorship being perpetuated and allowed on the Trenton forum of NJ.com. At first I thought it was due to readers submitting 'Inappropriate Post' complaints, but now I strongly believe NJ.com to be an active participant in this action. I'll explain my reasons for these suspicions in detail within this email.

My plight began in earnest on September 4, 2007 when many of my posts began to get deleted for no apparent reason. Most of these posts simply provided links to a web site that is critical of a captain of the Trenton police department. (captsleepy.com) While I understand the web site itself might embarrass the people it is written about, the content appears to be truthful in nature and gives readers insight into TPD affairs and antics they might not be aware of.

Here's an example of one of the posts that was deleted over and over and reposted over and over.

5411. OK girls
by sportyjoe2, 9/5/07 13:19 ET
Lets try this again. I know you'll delete it, but I can continue posting it like you can continue deleting it.
www.captsleepy.com/irv.htm
www.captsleepy.com/sick_time.htm

From that day on my posts --and posts by other posters-- started getting deleted at a frantic pace and this action appeared to reach a climax on September 5 with an all out deletion campaign being waged by unknown sources.

As an added bonus, my IP address and screen name(s) were suspended, which prevented me from posting from my usual places, but fear not because Sportyjoe has many resources at his disposal and the posting continued.

On Thursday September 6, I posted several posts at approximately 1:30am and noticed at approximately 6:30am they were deleted. These posts contained personal opinion on the affairs of elected and appointed officials of Trenton and were meant to bring spirited debate to the forum (The kind that NJ.com hopes for, according to their own propaganda.), but instead it brought censorship.

by sportyjoe, 9/6/07 1:21 ET
How can a high school not have the students schedules ready?
I know, I know. It's not dawg's fault or anyone he appointed or hired either. It has to be some malcontent union official behind this latest debacle.

5418. Good try dawg
by sportyjoe, 9/6/07 1:37 ET
Seems dawg had his little minions from city hall try to spread some baseless dirt about Det Luis Reyes right before the city council meeting tonight in an attempt to deflect attention from the incompetent police director.
It just goes to show what classless group of people these scumbags are in city hall.
Maybe they can peddle their BS to la palmer and watch him climb onto his soapbox and pontificate about more injustices to dark skinned folk who got a bad shake.
You're a pathetic lot.

After this complete abuse of the system by unknown forces I decided to post links and email addresses of persons to contact at NJ.com and the Trenton Times in an attempt to have this situation look into.

5420. Contact NJ.com
by sportyjoe, 9/6/07 7:33 ET
Everyone that reads this needs to contact NJ.com and complain about the immature behavior of the GUZZLER'S.
They've become scared that the truth has been showing their incompetence and corruption and can only respond by DELETING the truth.
Go to this link http://www.nj.com/contactus/ and inform Dave Blomquist he needs to look into this and put an end to it.
The more complaints he gets the better chance we have of ending the GUZZLER'S rein.
Also email Times publisher Richard Bilotti at rbilotti@njtimes.com Lets make him aware of this to
o.

This post was posted in about five locations on the forum (In violation of TOS), but the intent was to give readers an opportunity to copy the link and email address before they were deleted in rapid form like all my other posts. As a result NJ.com removed the posts within minutes and deleted the screen name 'sportyjoe'

I was able to get this posted before my screen name was deleted..

5421. captsleepy.com
by sportyjoe, 9/6/07 7:41 ET
Because this keeps getting deleted too.
www.captsleepy.com/irv.htm
www.captsleepy.com/sick_time.htm

I then contacted NJ.com and received an email directing me to the "Community rules'.

Later on in the day I then registered a new screen name --sportyjoe3-- and posted the following posts.

5422. I must be nice
by sportyjoe3, 9/6/07 13:34 ET
Seems the forum police is very upset with me and I must be nice.
Therefore I will refer to all the corrupt politicians and their convicted appointees by their god given names.
Like convicted felon Irving Bradley.
And convicted assaulter Joseph Santiago.
These two men are fine examples of citizenry and the children of urban areas should look up to them.
I really think they are doing a great job in Trenton as crime has been reduced to its lowest levels.
How was that forum police, did I do well?
Boy, this niceness is just wonderful. I think I'll try it some more. <wink-wink>

5422.2.1. Why thank you
by sportyjoe3, 9/6/07 14:02 ET
Re: I must be nice by sportyjoe3, 9/6/07
Thanks for your acknowledgement sir. I truly appreciate that.
While I fully understand and realize the errors of my way, <wink-wink> I hope I can continue to be as informative while being sweet as honey.

5423. Did you hear?
by sportyjoe3, 9/6/07 13:41 ET
Some fine upstanding staffer of the Honorable Douglas H Palmer administration is trying to sully the name of recently transferred Detective Luis Reyes. I appears this wonderful subordinate of Honorable Douglas H Palmer decide to reach out to certain individuals and discredit Detective Reyes in an effort to mute tonight's expected crowd of supporters.
While I think it's a shame what this subordinate is doing, I agree with whatever the Honorable Douglas H Palmer decides to do because he is the greatest thing since sliced bread. <wink-wink>

5424. Can you believe it?
by sportyjoe3, 9/6/07 13:57 ET
Today's newspapers report that TCHS had a minor snafu with it's scheduling. It seems all the high schooler's are without schedules because of something out of the control of the Honorable Douglas H Palmer's wonderful schools superintendent Rodney Lofton.
I certainly can understand how such a major blunder can occur, especially with all the malcontent union members the Honorable Douglas H Palmer has to deal with.
It's ok Mr. Palmer, we all understand how these minor errors can occur and we certainly don't hold you or your wonderful appointees accountable.
(I hope the forum police like this. They are such wonderful people you know. And even all the great officers that support the brilliant police director. I love you all.)
Ladies and gentleman, here's a link to today's article in the Times reporting on this small little scheduling error that I just discussed.
http://www.nj.com/news/times/index.ssf?/base/news-3/1189051808215810.xml&coll=5
(The forum police ask nicely that I, "please provide a brief explanation of where the link goes as a courtesy to other users.")

5425. Links of interest
by sportyjoe3, 9/6/07 14:18 ET
Dear fellow posters. Here are two links I'm providing to you as a public service.
The first one discusses the appearance of the exuberant Captain Paul D Messina Sr. at a downtown restaurant while he was off sick due to a horrendous accident he was involved in while operating a unmarked Trenton police car. Thankfully the good Captain didn't suffer any life threatening injuries and I'm happy to report that he wasn't at fault. As a matter of fact, the Captain should receive an accolade as he had pulled off to the side of the road to peruse his company Blackberry.
Good job Captain. You're my inspiration and wind beneath my wings.www.captsleepy.com/sick_time.htm
This second link takes you to a page on that wild and wacky web site also, and discusses in depth the wonderful career of Chief Irving Bradley. For those of you who don't remember, Chief Bradley was involved in a minor incident in Rahway in which he, well.. you know, had a couple too many beverages. Chief Bradley decided to be a good citizen and pulled off to the side of the road when the disgruntled Rahway police officers came by and discovered him. Chief Bradley then made the simple mistake of driving away and went home, only to be harassed by those awful policemen. Well, I don't want to give it all away, take a look if you feel you can handle it. If not please don't click on the link because I certainly don't want to offend anyone here. Especially all my pals who joined the wonderful FOP. I love you guys. www.captsleepy.com/irv.htm

5426. I love this
by sportyjoe3, 9/6/07 14:22 ET
I didn't realize how fun it would be posting in such a positive manner. I can't wait to do more. I just hope those wonderful folks at NJ.com and all those great supporters of Director Santiago and Honorable Douglas H Palmer don't decide to delete all my hard work. But if they do I understand and accept it, after all, it's me who's wrong, not them. <wink-wink>

5418.1.1.1. Sick
by sportyjoe3, 9/6/07 14:31 ET
Re: Speey's Accident - A question by NJwatchdog, 9/6/07
The poor soul was out sick, leave him be. He's had it very rough that last six months, you are all piling on him.
Stop, please.

Apparently these were deemed 'inappropriate' too because they were deleted and that screen name was deleted also.

So after another round of emails to the "contact us' feature of NJ.com and Mr. Bilotti --with no response, thank you-- I retreated and took a deep breath. While I had not posted for the remainder of the day I did notice the deletions continued regarding anyone asking about Sportyjoe or people inquiring about deleted posts. I still believed this to be the actions of a few within the Palmer and Santiago camp, but I was now beginning to grow suspicious on the involvement of NJ.com because of the quickness and persistence in the deletions.

Well today my suspicions were proven beyond a shadow of a doubt, at least in my mind, when I discovered my other screen name --sportyjoe2-- was also deleted. This occurred sometime after posting the following message on Friday September 7, 2007:

5441. Hi everyone.
by sportyjoe2, 9/7/07 19:04 ET
Just wanted to say hi and give praise to the Honorable Mayor Palmer and his great appointees.
Police Director Santiago is doing a great job in reducing crime, schools Superintendent Rodney Lofton has done a tremendous job in bringing back respectability to the schools and I'm certain Irving Bradley will bring a sense of professionalism to the communications center.
Trenton has risen from the basement and the sky's the limit for their greatness.
Great job guys. I love you. <wink-wink>

This message does not violate any TOS or community rules, and is harmless in nature and content and was posted with one purpose in mind; to see what type of response would be generated from the 'forum police'.

I got my answer loud and clear. While the post remains as of 2:00pm on 9/8/2007, the screen name has been deleted.

This action now confirms my fears that NJ.com is actively involved in the censorship of speech on it's forums, and makes me seriously believe the injection of corrupt politics has invaded the offices of NJ.com?

I'm sending this to the Web Master at captsleepy.com in the hopes it is published on that site for all to see.

To people involved in these incomprehensible actions, you should be ashamed and embarrassed because you are not mature adults, but merely pawns of egomaniacs that are afraid to have the truth told or to answer for their actions. In case you aren't sure whom I'm referring to, it's the Palmer and Santiago cronies and all the responsible parties at NJ.com, that's who!

5450. Plan of Action?
by footpost, 9/8/07 13:01 ET
Did anyone hear that the East District Sgt. has one week to come up with a plan of action to solve the Gang Problem on Locust St. Of course this order was implemented from the great Capt Sleepy. Well Sleepy, you have to big one of the most incompetent leaders I have ever seen. For a year in a half, you have spent a great deal of money to have officer's sitting on the 100 block of Walnut Ave, baby sitting so called adults. Everybody told you that you are not solving the problem, you were just pushing the criminal element around the block to Locust St. Well genius now your making a Sgt to come up with an action plan to solve the problem. I say screw you, why don't you come up with the plan you created the problem loser.

How can you expect Capt. Scum Bag to come up with a plan when he knows nothing about police work or sloving any kind of problem. If you want to know how to be a loud mouth snake or a fat suck up then you would go to him. This so called supervisor has always been a mess and a cry baby and now he is just pushing his fat azz around and doing nothing but destorying a once great police department. Keep up the good work Capt. Scum Bag you will have your day.

5450.1.1. A good Captain
by Ozzi, 9/8/07 13:22 ET
Re: Plan of Action? by footpost, 9/8/07
would sit down with his men, Sgts. and Lts. and calmly hash this problem out. End result would be the men and women on the street, the Sgts. and Lts. would all push themselves for the Captain because the Captain was calm, open and sought the knowledge of his Officers. Am I right in this nobikeray? I'd bet my pension check I am.

He's is already having his day,he is one of the least respested policeman in the history of the T.P.D. At least he dosen't represent the S.O.A.or the P.B.A.anymore to embarass those quality unions. He has no people skills,he lacks job knowledge, his emotions rule his decisions, and he tries to command with unfair rules and penaltys. Can anyone give us any good traits about the man, other then he eats everthing on his plate.

Re: Plan of Action? by footpost, 9/8/07
Capt sleepy is in charge any other time,so what's his plan? He's getting the big bucks,he's the Directors number 1 man so where are his ideas?Maybe he has failed the Director again, but that's O.K.they can have dinner together next week and see who they will screw. It's all a joke the guy's that should be in charge are on midnights and out of the way. Maybe messina can put some of his office boy's on the road, and give the street cops a hand cleaning up the corners.Maybe the street cops need a leader who can show them how to clean up the streets, and gain the street cops respect,(that leaves messina out).Maybe messina will do nothing but scream and yell and transfer one of the Sgt's due to his own incompetence.
